GENERAL EVALUATION PROCESS

Applications for evaluation submitted to IESCAREE are processed as follows:

Step 1. Download and print the Application Form

Step 2. Mail the completed application, required documents, and fees

Mail the completed application form, the fees (see Fee Schedule and Notes below), and the original documents to be evaluated (transcripts, marksheets, certificate of graduation or diploma, etc.) to IESCAREE by Express Mail, Insured Mail, or Certified Mail with or without Returned Receipt Requested (CMRRR). Certified English translation is required if the original educational document is not already in English. Original documents are required for verification purpose.

Step 3. Receive the completed evaluation

Once the evaluation process is completed, all the original documents, the original Evaluation Report (in a sealed envelope), and a copy of the evaluation report, will be sent to Applicant by Certified Mail, or other mailing method depending on the postage and handling fee submitted. The original evaluation report can be mailed directly to the institution by regular first class mail by IESCAREE if requested by the applicant (also see Frequently Asked Questions). A minimum postage and handling fee of $10 will be charged for this direct mailing if certified mailing is desired by Applicant.

Notes:
  • Be sure to fully complete Part "D" of the application for information on your educational background. Sign and date the application. Incomplete applications will delay the evaluation process.

  • Both original transcript and Certificate of Graduation/Diploma, if graduated, are required for any type of evaluation.

  • Turnaround time:
The evaluation process normally takes two to four weeks, depending on the completeness of information submitted, the type of the evaluation report, and the complexity of the documents. All evaluation requests are processed on a first-come first-served basis.

  • Rush Services:
The Center offers Rush Services for one, two or five working days, for the additional fee of $190, $100 or $50 respectively. For a one-day rush service request, the applicant must first consult the Center by phone prior to sending the documents. Money order/bank check/cashier check is required for 1 and 2 day rush requests. Rush Service requests are accepted on a case-by-case basis, and will start when complete information/documents and evaluation fee are received in the Center.

  • Fee can be submitted by money order, cashier's check, or personal check. Please note that money order is required for all 1 and 2-day rush services. Do not forget to include the appropriate postage and handling fee to the total fee.

  • Evaluation Report will be addressed to the intended institution if information is provided in Part E of the Application form. If intended institution is not decided/available, leave this area blank, the evaluation will not be addressed to any institution.

  • Original Evaluation Report is normally mailed to applicant, in a sealed envelope, with the applicant's Evaluation copy, and all submitted original documents. The original evaluation can be mailed directly to the institution by regular mail with no additional charge if requested. If Certified mailing to the institution is desired, an extra postage and handling fee of $10 is required. See item 4 of Fee Schedule for additional information on mailing options.

  • Reconstruction Work:
In few cases, when the school's transcript does not indicate the hours of study or the credits earned for each subject, the school syllabus is required. If a syllabus is not available, reconstruction work is needed in order to calculate appropriate U.S. credit equivalencies for the course-by-course evaluation. The standard Reconstruction fee is $100 per program, but may vary depending on the complexity of each case. If you request a course-by-course evaluation, and your transcript or mark sheet lists only subjects and grades, no units/credits/total hours of study for each subject, then you will need to complete the Reconstruction by Synthesis Form, and send it together with the Application form and original documents package. Exact Reconstruction fee will be determined after your documents have been reviewed.
